Blueberry Maple Protein Shake
Every time I see the combination of blueberry and maple, I begin to salivate. Pancakes, cakes, and syrups make sense. Both seem meant to go together, like peanut butter with basil (trust me—I know what I am doing).

Being the simple-loving person that I am, I knew that I wanted to create a blueberry and maple recipe that was less complicated. You can call it laziness, but I prefer to refer to it as uncomplicated. Since I drink a protein-rich shake on my way to work most mornings, I thought this was the perfect time to add a creative twist to one of my favorite meals.
The combination of blueberry and maple is a great summer flavor, and it tastes even better when you combine them in an ice cream-creamy health drink. This recipe can be made vegan by using a base of non-dairy yogurt or milk and adding protein powder. A large handful of spinach can also be added to the recipe without affecting its taste, making it an even more balanced meal.
Ingredients
- I use a mixture of both.
- 3 Tbsp vanilla protein powder
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/4 – 1/2 tsp maple extract
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp of flaxseed meals
- Sweetener (to taste).
- Ice cubes – 10
- 1/4 cup of water
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients in a Blender. Add more ice if it seems too thin. Add more water if it is too thick. If the flavor doesn’t taste strong enough, add more extract or sweetener at the end.
