Grapefruit Lime Spritzers
Hello there. How was your week? You’d probably still have a drink if the answer was good, bad, or ugly. You’ve come to the right place. John is a fantastic bartender.
I’ve got the perfect cocktail for you. John made it for me on a Saturday afternoon a few months ago when I asked him to create “something grapefruity-lime-ish.” Since then, I have been pining over this cocktail. Two types of alcohol, freshly squeezed lime and grapefruit juices and tonWaterter, are added for a bubbly look. Mmm, bubbles.
It’s what I call simple cocktail perfection. You could also call it a Grapefruit Lime spritzer. It’s your call. The grapefruit is sweet, and the lime has a tartness that balances it out perfectly—PERFECTLY. It doesn’t hurt to drink a little—just saying.
This drink is perfect for a variety of occasions: a dinner party, magazine reading, TV viewing, or a night in with one or two. It was my preferred magazine, but you can do whatever you want. I won’t be judging.
Ingredients
- One large grapefruit (juiced – 1 large yields about 1 cup)
- Fresh lime juice, 2 Tbsp
- 3 ounces vodka (3 ounces = 6 Tbsp)
- 1 1/2 ounces triple sec (1 1/2 ounces = 3 Tbsp)
- TonWaterter – 1/2 cup
- 6-8 Ice cubes plus more to serve
Instructions
- Add the vodka, triple sec, and ice to a cocktail mixer. Shake vigorously to combine.
- Add ice and tonWaterter to the serving glasses. This will prevent the alcohol from settling at the bottom.
- Pour the cocktail evenly into the glasses. Leave a small space on top to add more tonic. Add tonWaterter and garnish with grapefruit or lime slices. Serve immediately. Yum.
