Germain Pomegranate Spritzers
It’s been a year of intense anticipation. The day arrives in a flash, and I don’t even know when it happened. All the excitement around it vanishes in a matter of seconds. The holiday season is my favorite time of year, and I’m sad to know that I won’t be able to enjoy it until next year.
It’s no surprise that my beloved, joyous Christmas takes precedence over New Year’s. What’s the main reason? The New Year is a time of few traditions, with zero gifts and few cookies. But I’ve noticed that in recent years, New Year’s has been marked by big changes, including life-altering conversations. This has made me reconsider my love for the celebration. It’s not Christmas, but it makes me reflect on the year that has passed and what is ahead. And is a reason to celebrate.
We were in Barcelona during our recent European tour and found myself in my favorite coffee shop -. Oh, Ladycakes recommended Caravelle. We were instantly drawn to its coffee and food. I was curious about the drink they were offering: a St. Germain Spritzer.
St. Germain was something I had never heard of before. It intrigued me. We did some research and found out that it is of French origin and made from elderberry flowers. St. Germain is an artisanal liqueur with a delicate floral flavor. It mixes well with champagne and club soda.
We ordered the special and then convinced our friends to do so as well. We went out to buy a bottle as soon as we returned home. Since then, we have been experimenting (and thoroughly enjoying!) this incredibly delicious and unique liqueur.
St. Germain sparkling wine, pomegranate and arils, and a shot of St. Germain are a perfect match. This spritzer consists of a Brut sparkling wine, a shot of St. Germain, and pomegranate arils, with a dash of club soda. So simple, so delicious.
This cocktail is perfect for New Year’s Eve and other special occasions. It’s:
LightFruity
Floral
Bubbly
Not too sweet
Highly customizable.
It’s hard to make a mistake when you combine bubbly with St. Germain. Cheers, friends!
P.S. How are you spending New Year’s Eve? Either we’re going to a party where people we don’t even know are attending and have just bought two cats. (John and I are both allergic) or doing nothing. It’s a win for everyone.
